New Product: Ultra-Sensitive Tilt Measurements for Fiber Optic Sensing Systems
Luna has launched the os8100 optical tilt sensors, delivering rugged and multipoint tilt measurements to expand the capabilities of structural health monitoring systems based on fiber optic sensors.
Based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) technology, the os8100 brings a new approach to fiber-based geotechnical and civil measurements, addressing the shortcomings of conventional designs. The os8100 features unmatched sensitivity, multiple mounting options for ease of installation, and a unique design that allows the multiplexing of multiple tilt sensors on a single optical fiber. The os8100 series of tilt sensors have multiple mounting options including floor, ceiling and wall mounts.
The os8100 is also compatible with other FBG- based strain, displacement, pressure, and temperature sensors, enabling comprehensive fiber-based sensing networks. With a HYPERION system, for example, this allows the easy integration of tilt measurements with strain, displacement, temperature, pressure, etc. on a single channel.
