Photonic Control for OEMs
Overview
An important application of advanced photonic control modules is fiber optic interferometry. Interferometer systems are often used to make very small measurements that are not achievable any other way. The basic principle is to interfere two or more sources of light to create an interference pattern that can be measured and analyzed to extract information about the object or phenomenon being studied. Much information can be gathered by either measuring the phase, amplitude, frequency, or even the polarization.
The basic building blocks for any fiber optic based interferometer are the light source, detection circuit, and passive components to route the optical signals, as well as modules that can control the polarization or optical path length and delay. Luna offers a complete line of active and passive fiber optic modules and components for applications when performance cannot be compromised.
