Multifunction Polarization Controller
The MPC-201 is an all-fiber polarization controller which can generate any output polarization state. It also has built-in functions for periodic modulation and polarization scrambling.
The MPC-201 uses a low loss fiber squeezer polarization controller combined with drive and
control electronics to achieve:
i) Manual Polarization Control: The user adjusts the output polarization by setting the control
voltage applied to each fiber squeezer.
ii) Variable Rate Polarization Scrambling: The instrument scrambles the output polarization to
cover the entire Poincaré sphere at a user-controllable rate, using one of several scrambling
algorithms: 1) Tornado, 2) Rayleigh, 3) Triangle, 4) Discrete, 5) Triggered, and 6) SOP Modulation.
