At the TechConnect World Innovations Conference and Expo, small businesses meet with industry end-users and prospectors to explore partnerships that can accelerate transition of promising applied research and early-stage innovations. During this three-day meeting, Luna Labs (the applied research division of Luna Innovations), will give talks on two emerging technologies that solve critical problems for aircraft.

Monday, October 18 at 2:00 pm ET
Adam Goff will kick-off Luna’s talks when he gives an innovation pitch on Blockade GC, a Luna coating that inhibits the initiation of corrosion around fasteners and rivets, significantly reducing repair costs and maintenance man hours associated with corrosion. This pitch is part of the Aerospace, Space and Defense Innovation Spotlight session where small businesses are given five minutes to present to interested parties and then are given five additional minutes to engage in feedback from a panel.

Wednesday, October 20 at 1:30 pm ET
Tyler Farnsworth will present recent advancements on Luna’s novel rapid-curing concrete for runway repair. This technology can be used to patch cracks, holes, and larger area crater repair sites to restore the original integrity of a runway surface. Upon curing, the repaired runway site could support a C-17 landing less than one hour from the point of application. With thermal stability, water resistance, high bond strength to typical runway materials, and long working life, Luna’s epoxy concrete shows promise to satisfy the U.S. Air Force needs for rapid recovery from airfield damage.
