New Optical Strain Rosette for HYPERION Systems
Early this month, Luna Innovations in partnership with CMIWS launched a novel, strain rosette that makes design validation as well as active monitoring applications simpler and more repeatable. The os3300 sensor is a small footprint strain rosette that integrates three active strain elements with an optional temperature compensation sensor, leveraging the unique capabilities of fiber optics to lower the total cost of ownership of measurement and monitoring systems for multiple industries.
Based on fiber Bragg grating technology (FBG), the os3300 series of optical strain rosettes are available in two configurations - the os3310 is optimized for 0/45/90° strain measurements and the os3320 adds integrated temperature compensation to the strain rosettes. The os3300 sensors can be daisy chained on a single HYPERION channel, which allows these sensors to be easily integrated into systems with strain, displacement, temperature, pressure or tilt measurements.
