ROANOKE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 13, 2012--Luna Innovations Incorporated (NASDAQ: LUNA) today announced that the company has been fully accredited as a Trusted Integrated Circuit Supplier through itsSecure Computing and Communications(SCC) group.

As a trusted supplier, accredited by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), an organization within theU.S. Department of Defense, Luna is certified as a trustworthy design service provider at a time when the global integrated circuit supply chain is dominated by foreign sources and as demand grows for high-performance, application-specific integrated circuits used by military and national security agencies.

The accreditation program is part of Department of Defense’s strategy to ensure that electronic components used in U.S. military and national security applications keep defense microelectronic systems trusted, safe and mission ready. The service that Luna provides is related to unique trust technologies developed by SCC to verify FPGA (field programmable gate array) designs and devices.
